Heat pipe is a new type of heat transfer element with extremely high thermal conductivity. It transfers heat through the evaporation and condensation of liquid in a fully enclosed vacuum tube. It uses fluid principle such as siphon effect to achieve good refrigeration effect. It has the characteristics of extremely high heat conductivity, good isothermal property, free change of heat transfer area on both sides of cold and hot, long-distance heat transfer, temperature control, etc.
A typical gravity heat pipe is firstly vacuumized in a closed pipe. In this state, an appropriate amount of working medium is filled and heated at the lower end of the heat pipe. The working medium absorbs heat and vaporizes into steam. Under a small pressure difference, it rises to the upper end of the heat pipe, releases heat to the outside world, and condenses into liquid. Under the action of gravity, the condensate returns to the heating section along the inner wall of the heat pipe, and is heated and vaporized again, so as to transfer heat continuously from one end to the other. Due to the phase change heat transfer, the thermal resistance in the heat pipe is very small.
